The Residences, on the Pollock Halls campus, is situated at the foot of the royal Holyrood Park and only a short walk to Edinburgh’s Royal Mile and other tourist attractions. 

Available to the public during the summer months when the University of Edinburgh students are on vacation, The Residences give you the chance to experience what it’s like to live in our historic city, or you can use it as a base to explore further afield.

From the end of May to the beginning of September, this is a perfect place from which to enjoy one of the world’s most iconic cities.

The Brasserie at The Scholar Hotel is open to all and serves modern British cuisine with
seasonal twists. Fresh, local ingredients from Scottish suppliers fuel our diverse menu,
expertly crafted by Executive Chef Ed Fortune.
At The Scholar’s Lounge Bar, you can sip on cocktails, craft beers, fine wines, and spirits,
or indulge in something delicious from our All Day Menu.
Or relax amidst the greenery of the Garden Terrace where you can enjoy a refreshing
drink, crafted in partnership with Pickering’s Gin, or take your time indulging in our Garden
Terrace Menu.

Restaurant@JMCC is the main food hub on Pollock Estate and boasts a 650 seater restaurant.

Kick start your day with a buffet breakfast including traditional Scottish fare and Continental selection.

Join us for a buffet style dinner including chef’s theatre, salads, desserts, soft drinks and Fairtrade tea & coffee.
